Aim

 

On completion of the course you should have a range of skills and knowledge, which offer many opportunities within the trade. 

 

Course layout

 

The programme is delivered through practice projects.  You will be encouraged to select elements of the programme which will increase your understanding of professional standards in design and manufacture in order to maximise career opportunities within the jewellery industry.

 

 

 

 

  1. Pavé stone placement

  2. Pavé setting, rub over setting and claw setting: Step by Step Rendering Technique

  3. Baguettes and Calibrés (cut to a specific size)  

  4. Invisible-setting and various settings for the round stone

  5. Grouping fancy shape stones

 

Ring

  1. Introduction to the ring and design / Mechanical drawing

  2. Three-quarter view (pencil Line Drawing)

  3. Solitaire – Mechanical and fancy setting (ink and full colour)

  4. Large centre stone with side stones ring and twisted shank ring

 

Earring

  1. Introduction to the earring / The earring’s dynamic principles

  2. Button earring and special cut earrings

  3. Precious and Semi-precious stone earrings

 

Course does not include tools and materials
